About the studio

A practical approach to how you move every day.

Studio 8 is a yoga and wellness studio in Huntington, West Virginia. We teach movement that holds up in real life: bending, squatting, lifting, and getting up off the floor without worrying about it.

Our story

Serving Huntington for years.

We offer group yoga, mat Pilates, small-group Reformer Pilates, one-on-one wellness services, and on-site physical therapy. People tell us the same thing after their first visit: it just feels good to walk through the door.

Our approach is practical rather than trend-driven. We are not here to chase an aesthetic or an intensity level. We are here so you can keep doing the things your day asks of you, and keep up with the people you want to keep up with.

Beginners, adult athletes, and people rehabbing from injury or surgery all practice here. Everyone is welcome. We mean that plainly.

What we believe

Four things that shape every class

01

Movement for real life

Bending, lifting, squatting, and getting up off the floor. We teach the movements your day already asks of you, done safely.

02

We know your name

Classes stay small. Instructors learn how you move and what you are working on, so a group class still feels personal.

03

All bodies belong

No perfect poses, no matching outfits, no intimidation. Props, modifications, and plain instruction are offered without ceremony.

04

Calm from the door

The room is quiet, unhurried, and easy to walk into, whether it is your first class ever or your first in ten years.

The space

A space that is easy to walk into.

Practice rooms with plenty of natural light, a Reformer and Pilates chair area kept to three clients at a time, and props for every body. Come early, take your time, and set up wherever you are comfortable.

Room 106 is where our physical therapist, Britney Hegy, sees private clients. Ask us at the desk if you want an introduction.

From Joan, our owner

“We have a more practical approach to how you’re going to move in your everyday life. Can you bend over, squat, pick up a heavy box, and put it on the shelf in a safe way?”
